The ONE dangerous adjustments inexperienced yoga teachers make … is the one they make without asking.
Many of you have asked us why we don’t do adjustments in most classes anymore… so I’ll tell ya.
THREE reasons.
1. We’re SO good, we can get you there with our insanely wise and accurate verbal cues. Plus the use of props. You don’t need us to physically move you. This practice is about YOU becoming more aware of YOU. (one caveat below)
2. Our insurance doesn’t cover us if we adjust you. For a while there in the 80s and 90s, there were some wreckless adjustments being made. But, Functional movement trainings have since entered the scene and yoga teachers around the globe are much more educated about the body, the bones and the appropriate range of motion.
LOVE Teachers are highly educated, well trained, very experienced and we all take YOUR safety extremely serious. (It costs a pretty penny to get that level of teaching… hence the cost of a studio membership). 😉😉.
3. We’re back on the Workshop Train and have many opportunities for you to come in and get hands on adjustments, specific alignment assistance and personal guidance on the practice.
STARTING THIS SATURDAY!
(So the one caveat is… you don’t need us to move you… but when you want a little more instruction… the workshops are the place to get more specific and play around with modifications and variations).
Saturday, NOV. 12th @ 10:30am. Alignment Workshop
We’ll do a little 10 minute flow to warm up and then we’ll dive into aligning the 4 basic foundations and then adventure into a few more exciting postures. (Let us know any of your special requests). Headstand, anyone? Side Crow?
It’s more of hangout than a class… so you’ll be able to ask questions, see demos and watch other people topple out of crow pose without having to stifle your laughter. All in good fun. All in good fun. Just bring a sense of humor, an open mind, and a helmet. jk, helmets will be provided. 🤞🏻
Please sign up ahead of time in Walla. We want you all to get personal attention and instruction … and leave feeling stronger, calmer and well adjusted. (see what I did there? 🤣)
